The Master’s Ruby Reserve is a very special blend of whiskeys from Johnnie Walker’s extensive and very old stocks. To mark his 40th professional anniversary, master blender Jim Beveridge was asked to create a limited edition whiskey from these old stocks. Beveridge and his team then selected both aged whiskeys from ghost distilleries and active distilleries. Cambus, Carsebridge, Pittyvaich, Port Ellen, Talisker, Royal Lochnagar, Glendullan and Cragganmore distilleries are represented. The whiskey creation is not only a grandiose composition with breathtaking aromas, but also an expression of the unique career of Jim Beveridge, who has worked at all of these distilleries during his career.

The art de vie, the art of living, undoubtedly marks the zenith of the cognac creations from the house of J. Dupont. The amber masterpiece is limited to 365 bottles worldwide. At the “La Part des Anges 2016” event (whisky connoisseurs may be familiar with the expression “Angels Share”), the cognac J. Dupont Art de vie, estimated at 2,500 euros, achieved sales proceeds of a whopping 5,000 euros (1 bottle).

The Highland Park Thorfinn from the Warrior Collection is a collector’s item for all whiskey enthusiasts. This whiskey comes from the northernmost distillery in Scotland – Highland Park on the island of Orkney. The Warrior Collection is a special series in which each bottling is dedicated to a major figure in Viking history. The Vikings traveled almost all over the world with their long boats. Thorfinn was a man of great power and influence who in his time controlled the entire Orkney Isles. The Orkney Saga described him as a great chief, the greatest and strongest of all men, whose remains are buried in St Magnus Cathedral in Orkney.
This is the last and most exclusive bottling from the Warrior Edition. The highest percentage of sherry from the series was used for the whisky. The packaging and the bottle are also unique.

It is 40 years old, which makes the whiskey the oldest in the Highland Park family. In creating this one-of-a-kind drop, Highland Park proved that patience isn’t just a virtue, it’s a feat – in this case in liquid form. The Orkney malt is a vatting of different 40-year-old whiskeys and comes in a noble wooden chest. The whiskey was allowed to rest in former bourbon casks before it was bottled at cask strength without coloring and without chill filtration. Highland Park edited a 40-year-old for the first time in 2008, and then as now, only ten casks are used for the single malt and it is launched in very manageable quantities. The special creation is correspondingly rare.

Nose: dense play of fragrances, right at the beginning it shows what it is made of, fresh notes of peppermint, honey, fruit, spicy notes of nutmeg, cocoa, vanilla, gentle wisps of smoke and cereals.

As a master blender, far more than a pure spirits dealer, Hart Brothers always succeeds in bottling very special whiskeys.

A very good example of this is the Hart Brothers The Legends Highland Park 36 years, in the natural cask strength of 50.1 percent by volume. It has a very soft character for the distillery, which, in addition to a prominent note of heather and honey, also shows nuances of vanilla, banana and summery fruits. For 36 years it was stored in the barrel for this fullness of taste, the maturing period began in 1977. The Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac is a cognac with truly grand claims. It was modeled after a creation commissioned by Tsar Alexander I’s mother in the early 19th century. She wanted a special gift for her son’s 42nd birthday. Cellar master Yann Fillioux was so fascinated by this story that he wanted to imitate the noble cognac and resorted to the best eaux-de-vie that the Hennessy cellars have to offer.

The youngest and up to 200 years old the oldest eaux-de-vie that were allowed to contribute their character to the Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac are at least 50 years old. Some of these Euax-de-vie even date back to the 19th century. The successful marriage resulted in a cognac that is so valuable and unique that it required a special container. The Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac comes in an elegant crystal glass bottle designed by the French designer Stephanie Balinie. The cut crystal clasp is set in silver and fitted with an 18k gold ring. Each bottle is numbered and is a unique and valuable collector’s item in its own right. Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer who had emigrated to France, laid the foundation stone. In eight generations, the Hennessy distillery has been able to expand its craftsmanship and build a real treasure in the cellars. The eaux-de-vie are stored in them, the great vintages that, then as now, are used as the basis for the most outstanding products. In fact, only those who have fine eaux-de-vie at their disposal can create a great cognac. The finest Euax-de-vie from Hennessy are stored in the so-called Paradis cellar in barrels made from high-quality Limousin oak.
